Hailey & Jason

I've been great friends with Jason for almost 5 years, and his girlfriend Hailey was able to come visit him before he leaves for a 2 year church mission.

What happens in Nevada...

Okay, so normally I don't write about my personal life, but this was one of those occasions I wanted to talk about meine Leben :).

So my boyfriend and I go to universities that are 1600 miles apart. Long distance? Yeah. Tough? Can be, but at the end of the day, it's totally worth it. In September we talked about meeting up for Christmas...in small town Panaca, NV. The town is a tiny dot on the map of Nevada, about 2 1/2 hours North of Vegas. Being a brave little girl, I traveled 2,000 miles with his family out to Nevada, my first time West of St. Louis. We arrived in Panaca 3 AM, which was 6 AM Indiana time. Naturally, I was exhausted but so excited. Getting to see him even though I was exhausted beyond belief was the cat's meow.

So I spent the next 6 days living in a relative's house, meeting 40 cousins, aunts, and uncles, and spending time with my boyfriend the ninja. It was beyond amazing. Never had I felt so at home even though I was thousands of miles away from my own. I thought Christmas would be difficult being away from my parents and other relatives, but I was having too much fun to get homesick. I got to see rock formations, parkour in a gorge, visit Vegas and walk through Caesar's Palace, kiss my favorite by the Eiffel Tower, make gingerbread houses but above all, got to spend time with a person I never seem to get enough of. Yeah, yeah, presh...I get that..a lot. I'm used to it.

I was having such an amazing time that I didn't realize that time was slipping so fast. It didn't really hit me until my last night in Panaca when Ryan said "I feel like my break is ending now that you're leaving." That last night we made it amazing by doing what we had been wanting to do forever: watch action movies!!! I'm one of those weird girls who would rather watch action movies and (attempt to) play videos games rather than watch a chick flick and do girls' days out. I can thank my "brothers" for molding me into a chill, somewhat hipster.

The next day we trekked back to Las Vegas to catch my solo flight home. It really had hit me that this would be the last time until summer, but I tried to keep a light heart. When I got to the beginning of security, we said our "see you soon's" since we don't believe in goodbyes. I didn't look back because I was afraid of crying. I still hadn't felt a tear, even when I got one of the best texts ever. Simple, sweet, and amazing. "Have fun and smile :D"

It's what I'm still doing too. A promise I can definitely keep :)

Jannah

Oh Miss Jannah...one of my great friends in Indy was the perfect little model!

Andrea

I've known Andrea since she was a little girl, and she comes to visit every summer. I love her like a sister and had so much fun taking her pictures. We went under a couple bridges and used the sunsetting to our advantage.

The Social-Muncie, Indiana

The Social was an amazing, short-lived band that logged thousands of miles recording and touring from February to August. I wanted to dedicate another post to these amazing guys by showing the pictures I was able to take during their home show in Muncie, Indiana.

Senior Shots

So this past month I've had the opportunity to take photographs for seniors, one who is graduating from high school and a new concept, graduating from college! Both were so fun to work with and I keep finding that overcast days=LOVE for us photographers!
